To sensitize Niger Delta Entrepreneurs seeking to venture into agriculture on the various local and international credit schemes etc. available to interested Agropreneurs and provide information and guidelines on how to access them.
To initiate a public/private partnership to support small holder farmers and improve agricultural production in the Niger-Delta towards the diversification of the region’s economy.
To promote international dialogue to encourage global businesses to invest in agriculture in the Niger-Delta.
To inspire development of innovative avenues to create widespread food security through dissemination of best practices.
To encourage industries and companies operating within the region to pledge to food security.

The event will be declared open by the Hon.
Minister of Regional Development. It will
also feature official remarks by the Senate President, the Minister of Agriculture, the
Government of the Host State (Akwa - Ibom),
the Summit initiators and other stakeholders.
Technical Seminar/Symposium
Technical symposiums will provide the
platform for deliberations on key strategies
or actions that will drive food security
implementation for results and impact.
Inauguration of NDAES
Day 3 - Goodwill messages from
Representatives of the Niger Delta States,
the World Bank, African Development Bank,
the international community and
development partners as well as the Launch
of the Niger-Delta Agricultural
Entrepreneurship Scheme (NDAES) for
aspiring entrepreneurs in the agricultural
sector. In addition, the key outcomes from
day two, technical symposium, will be
presented.

Participation at the Niger Delta Food Security Summit is expected to include a wide range of stakeholders, namely: Officials from the Presidency, the Senate President, representatives of the Niger Delta State Governments, Minister of Agriculture, Members of the State and National Assemblies, Local Government officials, traditional rulers, agricultural and FMCG Companies, representatives of oil / gas companies operating in the region, representatives of relevant public sector and statutory organizations, including public policy makers; representatives of civil society organizations, representatives from the private sector organizations, representatives of Niger Delta youth groups, the scientific community, farmers and development partners, Investors and interested individuals. As befitting the focus of the inauguration, women groups and youth organizations will be specially invited to participate.
